On the 13th and 14th of September, the 49th SEDM Coordination Committee (CC) and 50th Political-Military Steering Committee (PMSC) meetings took place in Timișoara, Romania. This marked the first time that Bucharest hosted the meetings since taking over, for the third time, the SEDM Chairmanship, during the August 31st HOTO ceremony held in Kumanovo, the Republic of North Macedonia.
The sixteen SEDM states participated in the meetings, as well as the new Commander of SEEBRIG and delegates from international organizations such as RACVIAC, UNDP/SEESAC and the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Centre (E-ARC).
The discussions regarded the activities carried out since the previous SEDM-CC/PMSC meetings in March 2023, updates on the status of the SEEBRIG Multinational Brigade given by the new COOMSEEBRIG, BG Bilbil BITRI, as well as ways to further develop the current SEDM projects in order to continue advancing regional cooperation and security.
The next SEDM event will be the meeting in the format of defence ministers in November.
